Refreshing the health literacy action plan – Making it Easier

When we published Making it Easy in 2014, it brought together years of thinking into a short, practical action plan. It set out the case for improving health literacy levels and removing the barriers that exist in the healthcare system across Scotland.

We can reflect on good progress achieved to date. We’ve produced this short progress report – http://www.gov.scot/Publications/2017/07/7806

Towards the end of 2016, the Health and Social Care Delivery Plan made a commitment to refresh our actions on health literacy. We will publish a new plan by the end of 2017.

Today we release the first draft of this refreshed action plan for wider consideration and feedback. It has been developed collaboratively, so we want to continue its improvement in that way. There's lots of work to do to make it better, so we're keen to hear from you.

The refreshed action plan is available here - http://www.healthliteracyplace.org.uk/media/1420/health-literacy-making-it-easier-first-draft-6-july-2017.docx
